Swedish Health Services Respiratory Care Practitioner, Lead - Respiratory Therapy in Seattle, Washington

Swedish Medical center is looking for a Respiratory Care Practitioner Lead (0.6 FTE, Night Shift) in Respiratory Therapy at Swedish Ballard in Seattle, WA.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner, Lead sets up and operates various types of respiratory care equipment to be used in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness. May work with adult, pediatric and neonatal patient populations.

Acts as a resource person for other employees. May train or communicate instructions to other employees, perform minor scheduling, and inspect work to separate acceptable work from unacceptable. Serves as a contact person in the absence of a supervisor or director. Does not hire, fire, discipline, promote, demote, transfer, or appraise performance.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Must have completed Respiratory Care’s department orientation

  • Must be a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner with the Washington State Department of Health under Chapter 18.89 RCW

  • Must be registry eligible with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

  • New graduates qualify for temporary practice if they have complied with the Washington State Department of Health WAC 246-928-530

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of an AMA approved respiratory care program

  • Six (6) months hospital-based work experience, in the field of Respiratory Care

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials

  • Active member of the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC)

License and Certifications:

  • Required upon hire: Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner License (Vendor Managed)

  • Required upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (Vendor Managed)

  • Required within 90 days of hire: National Provider ACLS - American Heart Association (Vendor Managed)

  • Required within 90 days of hire: National Provider PALS - American Heart Association (Vendor Managed)

  • Preferred upon hire: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)- National Board for Respiratory Care

  • Preferred upon hire: Active member of the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC)
