Dawn, Nurse Manager
Dawn’s commitment to her team reflects the supportive culture of Providence Swedish. Fun fact: before nursing, Dawn worked in telecommunications, making her transition to healthcare an inspiring story of purpose and passion.
Working at Providence Swedish feels like being part of a second family. The support and teamwork here ensure we never face challenges alone.
What inspired you to join Providence Swedish?
I came to Providence Swedish as a new graduate through the residency program. The teamwork and support stood out to me immediately —everyone wanted me to succeed, and that culture of collaboration hasn’t changed.
Why did you choose healthcare as your career?
I’ve always wanted to help others, but I didn’t start my career in healthcare. After a decade in telecommunications, I felt something was missing—I wanted more meaningful work. Nursing allowed me to make a tangible difference. Returning to college was intimidating, but it led me here, and I’m grateful I took the leap.
What excites you most about your role as a Nurse Manager?
It’s all about the connections—the relationships we build with our team and with patients and their families. Supporting caregivers, ensuring they have what they need to provide compassionate and safe care, and watching them succeed is truly rewarding.
