Jaimie, Progressive Care RN
Jaimie began her journey at Providence St. Peter Hospital as a travel nurse before deciding to make it her permanent workplace. She was drawn to the supportive environment, her colleagues, and the hospital system itself. Now, as a dedicated team member, she thrives on the camaraderie and collaboration within her unit. Jaimie takes pride in her role as a Charge Nurse, ensuring both her team and patients are well-matched for the best care experience.
Providence St. Peter Hospital is a place where you can work with a really great team.
What’s your approach as a Charge Nurse?
As a Charge Nurse, I know all the nurses on the floor well, including their personalities and strengths. This helps me assign the right patients to the right nurses, which keeps both the team and the patients happy. Matching nurses with patients they work well with is a key part of my role, and it makes a big difference in how smoothly the unit runs.
How does tuition reimbursement work?
I took full advantage of Providence’s tuition reimbursement program to earn my Bachelor’s degree in nursing. The process was straightforward, and it allowed me to advance from my Associate’s degree with minimal out-of-pocket costs. I’m really grateful for the support Providence provided to help me achieve this milestone.
What’s the Olympia area like?
Olympia is a fantastic place to live, especially if you love the outdoors. There’s hiking, kayaking, camping, and even clam digging or fishing at the ocean. Skiing is also nearby, and Seattle and Portland are just a short drive away for more activities. I love camping and being outside, so it’s perfect for me.
