I love what I do because every day, I get to make a difference by guiding new nurses into specialties they’re passionate about.
What inspired you to join Providence Swedish?
I respect Providence Swedish for its core values and holistic approach to care. From the moment I started, I felt welcomed by a collaborative, supportive culture. Everyone is willing to help each other thrive, which makes being here so rewarding.
Why did you choose healthcare as your career?
Helping others has always been part of who I am. Initially, I thought I’d go into social work, but my mom suggested nursing, and it just clicked. It’s been over 30 years now, and I’ve never looked back. Nursing gave me not just a career but a purpose.
What excites you about your role as a clinical educator?
It’s incredible to work with nurses transitioning into new specialties. My role allows me to bridge that learning gap, giving them the confidence and skills they need to thrive. We combine classroom learning, hands-on simulation labs, and clinical experience to cater to every learning style. Watching them grow and excel is so fulfilling.
