Megan, Charge RN

Megan’s passion for nursing stems from a desire to give back to the community and make a meaningful impact in people’s lives. Her commitment to her patients and team shines through in her thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to care.

I pick up an extra shift every week just because I love my team and my patients that much. It's such a positive environment.

What inspired you to become a nurse?

It’s a profession that allows me to work anywhere. But more than that, I wanted a career where I could help people and feel a sense of fulfillment at the end of the day. Nursing gives me that opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives, and that’s incredibly rewarding.

What do you enjoy most about working at Providence Swedish?

The culture at Providence Swedish is very supportive. On both the floors where I've worked, we don’t just talk about our patients, people also ask, “How's your daughter? How's your dog? What hike did you do this weekend?” It makes me feel valued not only as a member of my team, but also as a person, and to be satisfied with work, you need both.

How did the Residency Program support your growth as a nurse?

The Providence Swedish Residency Program is incredible. My preceptor became a close friend and guided me through every step, from shadowing to managing higher-acuity patients. It’s been invaluable in helping me grow into a confident and capable nurse.
