Josh, Lead ER Technician
While Josh worked towards his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, he worked for a private ambulance company. As he got to know the people in the Swedish Edmonds ER, he realized that he liked the family-oriented atmosphere and decided to pursue a career in healthcare instead of technology.
Josh appreciates the opportunities he sees within the hospital. "I don’t feel like I’m stuck in this position. They’re valuing real life experience, so I strive to do more within my job scope."
Providence Swedish is a place where it feels like you’re working with family.
What is your team like?
I like to think of it as family oriented. Sometimes in a stressful environment, you need that comfort of someone else. I know these people and they’ll be there for you in your time of need as well.
How would you describe Edmonds?
It’s a very tight-knit community and the patients in the area trust the hospital. That’s what makes this hospital so special, the fact that we have a good community that surrounds this hospital on all ends.
Does Providence Swedish provide good benefits?
If you lose a patient, it tends to affect you and you try not to bring that home. Swedish offers free counseling and a lot of us have used that benefit and it helps out a lot.
