Sonia, Acute Care Charge RN
Sonia went through the Residency program at Swedish. "It was such an amazing program because I was able to practice what I studied at school and see how it would be on the floor," she says, "It helped me to realize that this was the right choice for me."
She sees opportunity for growth at Swedish. "I have seen many of the leaders start as floor nurses and I know there is always an opportunity for growth, not just for me, but for anyone that comes to Swedish."
One way that our team shows that they value one another, is always having open communication, being truthful to one another and stepping up to help each other no matter the situation.
Why did you choose Swedish Issaquah?
I knew that I wanted to work for Swedish when I was in nursing school, and we have a beautiful location here at Issaquah. I enjoyed working with all the nurses when I was a nursing student and, now that I work at Issaquah, it is amazing to see how we collaborate with one another.
How did Providence Swedish help you kick off your career?
I went through the residency program and it was such an amazing program because I was able to practice what I studied at school but also see how I was going to work on the floor, and it just helped me to realize that this was the right choice for me.
What is your team like?
My coworkers are amazing. We have created a home away from home and we just truly enjoy working with each other. We have fun and joke, but are respectful and know that we are providing the best care for our patients.
